Exams

A Level and GCSE Certificates from Summer 2023 are now available to collect from main school reception.  If for any reason you are unable to collect your certificates in person, you can nominate a friend or relative to collect them on your behalf.   The nominated person must bring written consent from you and some form of photographic identification and provide a signature.

This section of the website aims to provide you with helpful information and guidance in all aspects of examinations.

Considerations during exams

The examinations period can be a stressful time for students and parents alike and it is important that all those involved are as well informed as possible. The administration of both internal and public examinations has now become a “year round activity”. Apart from the traditional summer season in May and June, there are now additional public examinations held in November. That is not accounting for the GCSE Controlled Assessments, our usual trial examinations for Years 10, 11 and Sixth Form and the Year 7 Cognitive Ability Tests. As we move deeper into the 21st Century, students are experiencing examinations as early as Year 7 and we endeavour to ensure they are fully prepared and are fully informed of all aspects of examinations.

Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School are committed to making every effort to ensure that the examinations are conducted in a way that will cause as little stress as possible and help students achieve their best. All our trial examinations are run to the same standards and rules as Public examinations to familiarise students with the examination process beforehand.
