Our menus are carefully planned to provide maximum taste, premium quality and fantastic value that can be enjoyed before school, at morning break and lunchtime. We offer Meal Deals that include a daily choice of a two course hot meal, or our Grab'n'Go - consisting of a filled baguette, fruit pot or tray-bake, and a drink - to give students outstanding value at a fixed price.
We pride ourselves on following government guidelines when catering for our students, combining a range of traditional, wholesome and innovative recipes that are nutritionally balanced and freshly cooked on site. We regularly have special theme days introducing students to new and exciting flavours from around the world. Where possible, we buy fresh, locally-produced ingredients, and we also use the produce grown by the students in the school garden. We also cater for children with a number of medical dietary needs.
Years 7 to 11
We have three dining areas for years 7-11; Henry's Dining Hall, The Phoenix Hall and Fanshawe Diner, where a variety of hot and cold food can be enjoyed, as well as a selection of cold drinks, homemade desserts, cakes and tray-bakes.
- Hot Food Counters offer a wide variety of tasty meals
- Deli Sandwich Bar offers a variety of sandwiches and baguettes, ready-made or made-to-order
- Pasta Station offers pasta, a selection of sauces, and the option of a cheese topping
The Hub was refurbished in 2013, offering a relaxed 'lounge bar' dining experience to our older students. Sixth Form can expect to enjoy a wide range of hot and cold food, as well as a selection of hot and cold drinks, homemade desserts, cakes and tray-bakes.
How to Pay
Students are issued with a dinner card; Their first card is free, and replacement cards cost £3.00, ordered via the catering office. Please allow a 24 hour turnaround on reissued cards.
We use a cashless payment system called ParentPay®, which allows parents to make secure online payments by credit and debit card, or to pay cash at local stores through the PayPoint network.
We enjoy a good relationship with the students; Meeting with the school council each term to ensure that we fulfil their needs, and also for the students to understand the school's Healthy Eating Policy, based on guidance from the Children's Food Trust. Furthermore, students are encouraged to enter our "create your own menu" competition.
As part of our commitment to healthy eating, we run a loyalty scheme; For every healthy meal chosen, students will gain points that are calculated on our till system, enabling them to redeem the points for a free meal.
