Dear Visitor,

Welcome to our website. I hope that it provides you with an insight into our work, organisation and learning resources as well as providing information about DHFS.

We have a long and proud tradition of success from the original Dronfield Grammar School, endowed in 1579 by Henry Fanshawe, to the present day when we have been designated as a National Support School as a result of our work and capacity to support improvement in other institutions. This designation follows the Ofsted Inspection of November 2015 which graded the school as "outstanding" across all aspects of our work. Our aim is to provide excellence in all areas of our work with young people so that they may move forward, ready to take their rightful place in society as citizens of the 21st century.

We are proud of the fact that we are recognised as an "Investor in People" (Gold Standard) believing and ensuring that every member of our community matters and is valued for the unique contribution they make to our school. We welcome and celebrate diversity. We also challenge all within our community, adults and students, to give of their best at all times in an environment where commitment outweighs compliance.

Students are provided with both challenge and support in order that they may achieve their full potential across a wide range of curricular and additional opportunities. Our support for students with particular talents is well established and thriving with numerous opportunities for them to undertake activities geared to their particular area(s) of excellence alongside their academic work. They may take part in International Collaborative Study with youngsters in Germany, Spain, French Guiana and Slovenia by engaging with the Erasmus+ Project or specialise in their own field via other national bodies such as Sport England, the British Olympic Association, the BikeTrial International Union and many other local associations.

The Student Council is a very important feature of our school and offers a real chance to provide the "Student Voice" with elected Ministers and Ambassadors working under the leadership of our Head Girl and Head Boy along with their senior team.

We recognise the critical importance of the Home-School Partnership and the vital role that Parents and Carers play in the education process. We are committed to upholding our part of the Home-School Agreement and to engaging with all stakeholders to work in partnership towards further development of our school as a "Centre of Excellence".

We hope that you enjoy your visit to "Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School Online" and would welcome your suggestions for inclusion. Please mail them to our Website Technician or contact me directly.

With very best wishes.

T. B. Roche
