The English Faculty have worked with Dronfield Arts Festival to enter a large number of stories written by our students in to the creative writing competition...
The Arts weekend is taking place over the May Bank Holiday weekend and the town is going to have a varied range of activities to get involved in over three days.
Writing creatively is an important part of our curriculum. It is an aspect of our work that allows students free rein in developing their ideas, vocabulary and plot. We often find that these are the best pieces that our students create and we really enjoy reading them. We can find ourselves taken to different times and locations with a wide variety of plot events and occurrences that often grip our attention until the plot is brought to a conclusion.
As well as entering these stories to the competition we have also used the pieces of work to form in-class competitions with the best pieces being awarded Achievement Points and prizes. This sense of competition has led to some great and imaginative pieces being completed by students across a number of year groups.
For now, we are looking forward to seeing these pieces of work on display and eagerly await the news of a possible winner from within our midst!
