Traffic light alerts - for faster school updates

Look for the 'traffic light' icons on the front (home) page;

  • Red (critical messages): - e.g. 'snow day' or short-notice closure messages
    [ main website equivalent: - a temporary light red and grey striped panel on the home page ]
  • Amber (very important messages): - e.g. 'delayed school trip' messages
    [ main website equivalent: - a temporary yellow and grey striped panel on the home page ]
  • Green (important messages): - e.g. exam or parents evening messages
    [ main website equivalent: - the permanent dark grey box at the top-left of the home page ]

How to access the mobile DHFS news portal ('DHFS Info')

Type www.dronfield.derbyshire.sch.uk/mobile directly into the address bar of your mobile / tablet browser.

Once you're looking at the new mobile website ('DHFS Info'), you can either save the website to your browser's bookmarks, OR, create a shortcut on the home screen of your mobile or tablet. Instructions for creating home screen shortcuts for some popular devices can be found below.

How to create a home screen shortcut icon

Mobile DevicesiPhone / iPad

  1. Open Safari and visit the new DHFS mobile website.
  2. Press the 'Action' button – it looks like a rectangle with an arrow jumping out of it.
  3. On the popup menu, press the 'Add to Home Screen' option.
  4. Press the 'Add' button.

Mobile DevicesAndroid

  1. Open the browser and visit the new DHFS mobile website.
  2. Create a new bookmark for the new mobile website.
  3. Open the browser 'bookmarks' screen.
  4. Long-press the bookmark for the new mobile website.
  5. Select 'Add to Home screen'.

Mobile DevicesBlackBerry

  1. Open the browser and visit the new DHFS mobile website.
  2. Press the 'BlackBerry' key.
  3. Select 'Add to Home Screen'.
  4. Click 'Add'.

Although 'DHFS Info' is great for mobile, feel free to use it on your desktop computer or laptop too.
