Arkwright Scholarship

Arkwright Scholarship applications for Y11 are now open.

In the past four years, some of our Year 11 students applied for, and were successful in gaining an Arkwright Scholarship.

This is a prestigious opportunity to gain financial and opportunity assistance for students who demonstrate an exceptional flair in STEM subjects and engineering in particular.  In a nutshell, Arkwright aim to support the next generation of transformational STEM leaders.

Weather advice: We aim to stay open

Weather and site are monitored. Website, text, email and radio will communicate any changes.

In the event of adverse weather conditions we will follow our usual procedures. We aim to open as usual every day. Please be aware that;

weather conditions are monitored on an ongoing basis, the site is checked regularly and prepared for the next day

staff are on-site from 6am carrying out checks

we use the website, Twitter (@DHFSUpdate), text to parents, email to students, Radio Stations (Peak FM, Sheffield and Hallam) to communicate any changes

students are required to remain on site as long as the school is open

Parents: Driving and onsite access

I write to ask for your help and support in maintaining our school as a safe environment and to remind you that we do not allow any vehicles on site for the purpose of dropping off / picking up students from school at the start or end of the school day.

Safety Warning: road traffic awareness

Please be safe when walking to and from school and use the pavements and crossings.

We have had several complaints from Dronfield residents about DHFS students walking along the middle of the road when leaving school.

This is highly dangerous and the consequences do not bear thinking about.
