3rd in Peak 11 Maths Challenge

DHFS took part in the first ever Peak 11 Maths Challenge against seven other Derbyshire schools. H Wright, J Dymond (Year 7), H Pratt and J Barker (Year 8) competed in 3 team challenges, and placed 3rd overall. A great performance, well done!

Student wins Engineering Scholarship

Andrew Hale, Year 11, has been awarded an Arkwright Trust Engineering Scholarship; the most prestigious scholarship scheme of its type in the UK, which supports and encourages top-ranked students in their STEM related studies. Congratulations and well done!

Primary School visits Food Technology
Tuesday, 20th June 2017

80+ Year 5/6 children from Northfield Primary School visited food technology recently to cook healthy and delicious stir fries. They answered questions about calcium, talked about different vitamins and minerals, and developed their knife skills. It was an excellent day!

Sporting Wins w/c 19th June
Monday, 19th June 2017

Y7/8/9/10 became NED rounders champs + Y9 girls qualified for the School Games finals. In cricket, Y7 boys scored 64 and bowled Lady Manners out for 63 in the county semi-final. Y7 QuadKids won the NED athletics and qualified for the School Games finals.

Radio boss impressed by Y10 student

Maisie Finlayson researched, presented and edited a radio interview for her Work Experience placement, and received glowing feedback from the boss, who formerly worked as a broadcast journalist for over 25 years at the BBC and CNN. Well done Maisie!
